Eve
Welcome to Expiation. We, who have found you so worthy and deserving, have declared you to be one of the Chosen. You have been charged with Poisoning your own brother and in accordance with the doctrine of this world, you have ▬▬ until you will face your sentencing. Prepare your defence adequately or face the repercussions. Stats List
Age: 23
Gender: Male, unless using Disguise Person, in which case, he has the gender of the form he’s in.
Height: 6’2”
Manipulativeness: 100
Cooking: 85
Evil: 45 to 80, depending on mood.
Physical Attributes Eve has white hair which almost covers his brown eyes. He is about 6’2” in height, and has a rather athletic frame due to his previous work as an adventurer. Generally Eve wears some form of tunic or jerkin undearneath his studded leather armor, most commonly of a green hue, with some slight gold etching. He also has many pouches and flasks filled with various poisons and potions around his belt, and brown legging-like pants made out of leather.
Mental Attributes Eve is very eloquent, and seemingly caring. If you encounter him randomly, you will likely consider him a nice, and courteous person. He will try to befriend most people, either because they are useful to him, or weak. He is rather social, and rarely likes being alone, though if he is very stressed, he tends to go away and read something. He is rather greedy, and likes money. For example: The only person he felt positively towards was a character who was incredibly naive and would give Eve money whenever he asked for it. (Because they were both great at making money, and the other character had terrible common sense.) Because having them around was useful, Eve kept them around. Gradually, through that character’s constant gifts of money and Eve’s exposure to them, he gained a small amount of care for them. Eve would be rather unhappy if they died. Giving Eve money and acting positively towards him may make him see them in you, and he will be less likely to harm you. Generally Eve does not have any caring for others whatsoever, though he is capable of truly caring for someone, this is exceedingly rare, and they have to prove that they are useful first. If someone does manage to get him to care for them, he is likely to gaslight them, so they will trust him no matter what. He will try almost anything to get close to those he finds weak, and not useful in order to isolate and later betray them. Eve enjoys betraying others. He feels truly alive when he sees pain in their eyes. Eve generally has empathy (In the sense that he comprehends others’ pain) and understands what he’s doing is wrong, but it brings him joy and he doesn’t truly care about the people he hurts. However, he is not truly murderous and will only kill if he thinks it is the best way to make someone else feel betrayal. Eve is bored with the world, happy friendships, noble quests, and just normalcy in general. Betraying others and ruining their normal lives gives him pleasure.

Character Name: Eve
Character Canon: OC
Canon Point: Just before being decapitated by a bandit leader, as revenge for his earlier betrayal and backstabbing. He will be severely injured, as the leader beat him terribly, albeit justifiably. He only still has his money because the bandit leader was too busy beating the stuffing out of him for his betrayal to care.
Age: 23

Crime: Poisoning his own brother, so that he would become paralyzed and would have to take over the store rather than becoming an adventurer, thereby ruining both his sister’s dream of running the store and his brother’s dream of becoming an adventurer.

Background: Setting: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eberron History: Unlike what may have been expected, Eve did not have a poor family life. He grew up in a somewhat wealthy district in Khorvaire. His father was a merchant, and his mother, a retired adventurer. He had an older brother, whose dream it was to become an adventurer, and a slightly younger sister who dreamed of taking over the shop. His family loved him and treated him well, trying to help out whenever they could. The only noticeable people in the neighborhood were a very elderly illusionist, and a rogue who was missing their legs. As Eve detested the normalcy of his family, he did his best to become close to both of these more unique individuals.
One day, when his rogue mentor was teaching him about various types of poison, they mentioned a natural neurotoxin in Eve’s world that caused permanent, seemingly genetic, paralysis. At that time, Eve seemed to listen even more intently than before, and actually began to write down the method of preparation. The rogue was confused at this, but Eve refused to tell him why he was so interested. A few months later, when Eve’s brother started having muscle spasms … they knew. Eve’s brother became paralyzed, but still had to take over the shop, causing the ruination of both his dream and that of Eve’s little sister. But who could ever suspect Eve, such a sweet child, always kind to his siblings, and the townsfolk? He even became an adventurer, to follow his brother's dream … or more accurately, to crush it completely and give his brother an inferiority complex.
Soon, he encountered an adventuring party, with a very naïve but wealthy human cleric, a dwarf fighter with dreams to liberate a legendary dwarf-forged magical item from the hands of bandits, and a necromancer with a god complex. Though they did manage to rescue the item, it mysteriously broke, breaking the dwarf’s spirit along with it. Eve then left an illusion of himself at the camp, and went to talk to the dwarf, before abruptly stabbing him and dumping the corpse near a camp of bandits to frame them for the crime. The necromancer always suspected something…but how? He seemed to be there. Rogues can’t cast magic, and as far as they knew, that was all he was. Unfortunately for said necromancer, due to their god complex, they didn’t have many defensive capabilities and were terrible with dexterity and fall damage (they weren’t very durable), so when they slipped from the edge of the crypt, Eve, the cleric, and the dwarf’s aasimar monk, were exploring as a favor to them, and…well, it wasn’t pretty. Of course, Eve tried to save them because he knew they couldn’t hold on for long, and the others couldn’t get there fast enough. Another new member got handed over to the enemy, to save the rest of the party, because Eve managed to convince the rest of the party that they were the traitors. Eve also severely gaslighted the cleric, since they were useful and because he started to care slightly about them. He wanted them to trust him no matter what…and gaslighting was the easiest way to accomplish that. Unfortunately for Eve, he’d left one of the bandits alive just to see the betrayal on their face. The bandit had become significantly more powerful, and was solely motivated by revenge. They ended up successfully kidnapping Eve, torturing him as he mocked their traumas, and finally decapitating him. After Eve’s death, the cleric was still essentially brainwashed, and the Aasimar monk had severe paranoia and PTSD.

Personality:
EXTROVERTED
Eve is very eloquent, and seemingly caring. If you encounter him randomly, you will likely consider him a nice, and courteous person. He will try to befriend most people, either because they are useful to him, or weak. He is rather social, and rarely likes being alone, though if he is very stressed, he tends to go away and read something.
GREEDY
He is rather greedy, and likes money. For example: The only person he felt positively towards was a character who was incredibly naive and would give Eve money whenever he asked for it. (Because they were both great at making money, and the other character had terrible common sense.) Because having them around was useful, Eve kept them around. Gradually, through that character’s constant gifts of money and Eve’s exposure to them, he gained a small amount of care for them. Eve would be rather unhappy if they died. Giving Eve money and acting positively towards him may make him see them in you, and he will be less likely to harm you. If this world has monsters to kill, Eve will likely return to his adventuring ways, and offer to kill them for money. He is not lazy, and actually enjoys earning money as well as receiving it. If offered money to protect a player character for a period of time, he will not let them out of his sight at almost any time, he is getting paid. (I can attest to this because it happened, and considering the amount of money he was offered, nobody was going to hurt that person.) He rarely spends his money, and is rather frugal, he just seems to like the act of earning and receiving the money.
SOCIOPATH
If it benefits him, he will generally not hesitate to sacrifice other players, unless they have somehow proven themselves useful or he has developed some care for them. However considering people can come back from death, and Eve hates being seen as evil, he is unlikely to kill any PC’s and is more likely to try and mess with their interpersonal relationships, so as to exploit them, and make the person miserable. (He is not a good person, but he is interesting to interact and play with, considering he can actually improve and become better, or become worse depending on his interactions with others.)

Abilities:
Eve is very good at sneaking up on people and attacking from behind
He can deactivate traps and bombs from up to 30 feet away
Mage Hand—telekinesis, but it doesn’t work on anything heavier than 10 pounds
Disguise Self—shapeshifting
Invisibility—Eve can make himself invisible, but can only do it twice a day, for 1 hour at a time
Mirror Image—This spell makes three duplicates of him. They can take damage, but it kills them instantly. They seem real and can be touched. They can function even when he is far away, though he has to control them when they are spoken to, causing him to have to split his concentration.
Eve has the ability to dodge attacks extremely well
He can sense and find traps (He will feel paranoid if there are traps in the room.)
He is good with smaller weapons, especially daggers (can use any small sharp weapon very well. Ex: A kukri knife, or a throwing dart.)
He knows how to fight in any armor lighter than a chainmail shirt (Armor made out of leather, or cloth.)

Technical Terms for the abilities:

Sneak Attack/ Backstab (very good at sneaking up and stabbing people from behind), Disable Device (deactivating traps and bombs), Mage Hand (telekinesis), Disguise Self (shapeshifting), Invisibility, Mirror Image (duplicates), Evasion (dodging), Improved Uncanny Dodge (more dodging), sensing and finding traps, Simple Weapon Proficiency (good with smaller weapons, daggers especially), Light Armor Proficiency (good with any armor less heavy than a chainmail shirt).

Inventory:
Life-stealing dagger— Enchanted dagger, when opponent is hit with it, it will draw a bit of their health, and give it to Eve. Health can be regenerated by sleeping, but imagine fighting someone where whenever they hit you, they get a little bit stronger, and you get a little weaker.
Studded leather armor
Various poisons—.
The adventurer clothing he’s wearing
34 platinum pieces, 213 gold pieces, and 42 silver pieces (if gold and platinum are worth what they are irl, he’s set for life. He’ll be so confused. Money conversions are weird).
